About

Alana Cummings.

Confidence and leadership coach. Motivational speaker. Founder of Superbloom. And for years before any of that, a corporate professional who knew exactly what dormant felt like.

Her story

Alana Cummings spent more than thirteen years building her corporate career: first in New York City’s fashion industry, then in tech, where she developed deep expertise in sales, client success, and people leadership. Most recently, she led a large U.S. Client Success team at Reward Gateway, overseeing relationships with more than 400 clients representing multimillion-dollar annual revenue. She also supported the company through multiple mergers, acquisitions, and private equity ownership transitions, including its most recent sale in a transaction valued at more than $1 billion.

She was in the rooms where leadership actually happens: the meetings, the reviews, the reorgs, the difficult conversations, and the moments where highly capable people suddenly go quiet or begin second-guessing themselves. She was good at the work. She also knew, for longer than she admitted, that something in her was waiting.

Superbloom is what happened when she stopped waiting.

Based in Rochester, NY, Superbloom Coaching, LLC provides 1:1 coaching, group coaching, organizational coaching, leadership development, corporate workshops, retreats, and speaking engagements for professionals, emerging leaders, established leaders, and organizations. Alana’s work centers on helping people build confidence, strengthen self-trust, communicate more effectively, make clearer decisions, and navigate change with greater intention.

Recent work includes partnering with the Women in Business Employee Resource Group at First American Equipment Finance to deliver Own Your Voice: Confidence, Boundaries & Self-Trust to more than 70 women. The session gave participants practical tools to recognize where they may be holding themselves back, communicate clearer boundaries, and lead with greater confidence, agency, and self-awareness.

Alana’s coaching style is intuitive, direct, and grounded in what she calls tough love. She believes truth is kindness, and that it would be a disservice to help someone feel better without also helping them see the blind spots, patterns, and choices that may be keeping them stuck. She often describes herself as “a vehicle so you can hear yourself more clearly.” Her role is not to hand clients the answers, but to help them uncover what they already know, challenge what is no longer serving them, and move forward with greater clarity and conviction.

Superbloom serves clients throughout Rochester and Western New York as well as virtually. And one thing Alana never left behind from her fashion days: shoes. Her first professional job was with Steve Madden in New York City, and she still has an obsession with footwear, with many, many pairs in her closet.

Why “Superbloom”

A superbloom is a rare desert event. Seeds lie dormant underground for years, through conditions that give them no reason to grow. Then the right rain comes, and an entire desert erupts into flower at once.

Sometimes, our strengths, gifts, and potential can lie dormant for years. We may feel stuck, disconnected from ourselves, or unsure of what we truly want.

But when we look within, understand who we are, begin valuing ourselves, and trust our own voice, we create the conditions for what has always lived within us to emerge.

We step into our fullest potential and create a life that feels more authentic, fulfilling, and abundant.

That is what it means to Superbloom!

The name has a second root, too: the song “Superbloom” by MisterWives, whose lyrics helped inspire it.

How Alana works

Directly, warmly, and without a script. Clients say the same thing about her over and over: Alana truly sees you. She notices the phrasing, the body language, the shift in your voice when you get near the real thing. Then she says so, kindly, and the work starts there.

Alana works with women one-on-one and in groups, and with organizations through keynotes and workshops. All of it starts with a conversation.

Between sessions and stages, you can hear her on Journey to Radiance, the podcast she co-hosts with Melissa Suchodolski and Joanne Rowe: honest conversations about personal growth, identity, relationships, leadership, and the different seasons of life. On YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.

Coaching is a very personal process and Superbloom made the whole experience easy and impactful. I loved how relatable Alana was yet she was direct when I needed her to be. During a transformational time in my life, Superbloom Coaching helped me gain new perspective and set me up for success with new challenges. It was easy to open up because Alana was approachable and had the same goals and values I had prioritized in my own life.
